Ayurvedic pharmaceutical factory penalised in Rangpur

A mobile court of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) in an anti-adulteration drive penalised an Ayurvedic pharmaceutical factory Tk 50,000 for manufacturing medicines violating related laws on Wednesday afternoon.

The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate of RpCC Mahmud Hasan Mridha conducted the anti-adulteration drive at SR Laboratories, an yurvedic pharmaceutical factory, in Mandalpara Robertsonganj area of the city.

The mobile court checked documents and found no valid documents including the license and approval for running the factory.

Besides, the factory was producing medicines without chemists in an unhygienic environment with no masks, gloves, aprons and other health safety measures for workers.

The mobile court fined the owner of the Ayurvedic pharmaceutical factory Md Rafikul Islam Tk 50,000 under the Drugs Act, 1940 for the offences.
