4 business establishments fined in Bhola

A team of The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) realized Tk 34,000 as a fine for various irregularities from the owners of four business establishments in the Banglabazar area in Daulatkhan upazila of Bhola on Thursday.

Sources said a team led by the Assistant Director DNCRP, Bhola Md Mahmudul Hasan conducted the drive. And fined Nazmul Medical, Haji Medical and Ahana Medical respectively Tk 25,000, Tk 3,000, and Tk 3,000, for selling medicine at high prices. He also fined Haji Biryani Tk 3,000 for selling food in an unhygienic environment in the Bangalbazar area of the upazila.

The business establishments were fined for various irregularities and violations of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.

Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation team. The campaign will continue, assistant director of DNCRP Md Mahmudul Hasan added.
