A team of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a drive on Tuesday realised Tk 21,000 as a fine from owners of three business establishments for various irregularities in Cumilla district.
Sources concerned said the team led by the assistant director of the Cumilla DNCRP Asadul Islam conducted the drive at M/S Medicine House, fined Tk 15,000 for selling unauthorised date expired medicines, M/S Mama Bari Sweets and Fast Food, fined Tk 3,000 for selling unauthorised products and Al Madina Confectionery finned Tk 3,000 for selling unauthorised products in Bijaypur Bazar area in Sadar South upazila.
The business establishments were fined Tk 21,000 for various irregularities and the violation of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.
Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation team. The DNCRP drive would continue.
