Four killed in Kushtia road accidents

At least four people were killed and 12 others injured in two separate road accidents in Kushtia district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Gaffar, Inta Sardar and Sanu. They are all residents in Daulatpur upazila of the district. Another was identified as Emdad, resident of Sapahar upazila in Naogaon district.

The accident occurred in the Alauddin Nagar area on the Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway of Kumarkhali upazila when a truck hit a three-wheeler around 4.30am, leaving three people dead on the spot and nine others injured, said Kushtia Highway police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Idris Ali.

In another accident, a person was killed and three others were injured after being hit by a truck at Egaro mile area on the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway this morning, police said.

The injured were taken to Kushtia 250-bed Hospital, the OC added.
