Prime accused of a murder case held in Rangpur

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested prime accused Sujan Chowdhury, 40, of Ashratpur area in Rangpur city in the sensational auto-rickshaw driver murder case from Parker Mour area in Rangpur on Sunday night.

“The elite force also arrested associate Mominur Islam, 29, of Sujan from his house in Kakina area of Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat, recovered the looted auto-rickshaw and knife used in slaughtering the victim,” said a press release.

Sujan and Mominur slaughtered auto-rickshaw driver Sultan Mian, 34, of Bhangni area in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur at Paschim Isswarkol area in Kaliganj upazila and looted his three-wheeler and threw the body into a canal there on last September 5 midnight.

The victim’s father Md. Abdul Gafur filed a murder case with Kaliganj police station in Lalmonirhat against unknown killers on September 6 last in this connection.

Later, a smart team of RAB-13 enforced intelligence activities following huge news coverage in the print and electronic media on the sensational and clueless murder of the auto-rickshaw driver and started a shadow investigation into the murder case.

Gathering intelligence information, the elite force detected the location of prime accused Sujan and arrested him from Parker Mour in Rangpur city at 9:35 pm on Sunday.
