The Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) celebrated the 76th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a befitting manner wishing her total success in the years to come.
The city corporation started the celebration of the day by releasing balloons by Awami League Presidium Member and RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton in the morning.
Afterwards, Liton led a colourful rally brought out from the premises of city bhaban with a band party. All the participants carried colourful balloons and miniature flags wishing the premier.
After parading some thoroughfares via New Market and Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Crossing, the rally ended on the city bhaban premises.
Earlier, the city mayor paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait on the city bhaban premises.
He prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members as well.
He also prayed for the long and healthy life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The other daylong birthday celebration programmes include releasing 76 pigeons, cake cutting, drawing competitions, prize giving ceremony and cultural functions.
