The International Day of Older Persons-2022 was observed in Bhola on Saturday. This year the theme for the day is, “The Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World.”

District Administration, Department of Social Services, Veterans Benevolent Association and Voluntary Social Welfare Organisations organized programmes to mark the event.

On the occasion of the Day, a colourful rally was brought out from the deputy commissioner’s office which paraded the important streets and ended in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office this morning.

After the rally, a discussion was held in the deputy commissioner’s conference room. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Taufiq-e-Lahi Chowdhury addressed the function as the chief guest with the president of the District Veterans Association and Freedom Fighter Md. Abu Taher is in the chair.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Abdul Momin Tulu, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bibek Sarkar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md Farhad Sardar, Deputy Director of Social Service Office Nazrul Islam, former Civil Surgeon of Barishal district Dr Abdul Malek and Bhola Press Club President M Habibur Rahman, among others, spoke on the occasion.
