A Kurigram court has placed two assistant teachers of Bhurungamari Nehal Uddin Pilot Girls High School on a two-day remand over the SSC question papers leakage in the district.
The teachers are Aminur Rahman Rasel, assistant teacher in the English department of the school; and Jobayer Hossain, part-time teacher of Islamic Education at the same institution. Kurigram Chief Judicial Magistrate Sumon Ali placed them on remand on Sunday responding to a remand prayer of police.
Bhurungamari Police Station OC Azhar Ali and Bhurungamari court general registrar officer (GRO) Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter.
The same court on Sunday sent prime accused headmaster and centre secretary Lutfar Rahman to jail after his three-day remand was over, Sirajul Islam also said.
Investigation Officer (IO) OC Azhar Ali said police pleaded for three-day remand of the accused. However, the court granted a two-day remand.
He said, “Lutfar Rahman has divulged much information. We’ve apprised the court of it.”
Copies of the English 1st paper and 2nd paper of the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations went viral on Facebook and WhatsApp on September 19 and 20.
Following the incident, the examination control committee filed a case accusing some 10-15 persons.
Abu Hanif, office assistant of the Nehal Uddin Pilot Girls High School, has been absconding.
