2 killed in N’ganj road crash

Two people, including a college student, were killed and four others injured when a speedy bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the busy Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj Wednesday morning.

The deceased student was identified as Nafiz, son of Naim Miah of Rupganj upazila, and a class XI student of Government Safar Ali College. The identity of the other deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The injured have been taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Confirming the matter, Kanchpur Highway Police Station OC Nabir Hossain said the accident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Duptara union when a Narsingdi bound passenger bus of Bandhan Paribahan collided head-on with a CNG auto rickshaw coming from the other side at around 8am Wednesday.

Azizul Haque Hawladar, officer-in-charge of Araihazar Police Station, said the bodies have been sent to the morgue for post mortem and they are trying to identify the other deceased.
