Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Kalmegh Bardhali area in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased were identified as Sahidul Islam, 25, son of Usman Ali, resident of Barunagaon area of Sadar upazila and his nephew Md Payal, 23, son of Anwar Hossain, resident of the same area.
The accident occurred around 12am near the Kalmegh Bardali area in Baliadangi upazila, said Pradip Chandra Roy of the Baliadangi Fire Service.
“We were alerted about the bodies of the two lying on the roadside by a passerby, and later police were also informed,” he said.
The accident occurred when Sahidul and Payel were going towards Thakurgaon by a motorcycle from Baliadangi, on the way a bamboo-laden three-wheeler Nasiman (locally made vehicle) coming from the opposite direction hit them in Kalmegh Bardhali area around 12.40 am, leaving them dead on the spot, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baliadangi Police Station Khairul Alam said.
