BCL leader arrested over cow theft
The cows were kept and sold from Babli Akter’s house in the Radio Colony area

Police have arrested a female leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League named Babli Akter for selling stolen cows in Dhamrai, Savar.

She was sent to court on Wednesday afternoon in regard to this case. Earlier in the morning, police raided the Radio Colony area of ​​Savar and arrested Babli.

Babli Akter is Dhaka District North Chhatra League Student Affairs Secretary.

According to case sources and police, several cows were stolen from the Dhamrai area over a span of time. Several days ago a case was filed in regard to a stolen cow in Siti village of Kulla union.

Later, police raided and arrested two people in regard to the case. Babli was later arrested based on the information given by the previously arrested.

Dhaka District North Chhatra League President Saidul Islam said organisational action will be taken against Babli if the allegations are proven.

Confirming the matter, Atiqur Rahman, the officer-in-charge of Dhamrai police station said after the cows were stolen, they were kept and sold from Babli Akter’s house in the Radio Colony area.

He added that Babli was arrested for her involvement in the theft and sent to court.
