Couple killed in Dhamrai bus crash

A man and his wife were killed as a speedy bus of Jamal Paribahan hit the bicycle carrying them in Balitha area of Dhamrai upazila on the Dhaka-Aricha highway on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place in front of graphic design factory in the Balitha area on the highway around 7:30 am.

The deceased were identified as Israfil and his wife Swapna Begum, residents of Sholdhan area of Sanora union in Dhamrai upazila. One of them used to work in graphic design and another at AKH factory.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Shah Alam of Highway police station in Manikganj confirmed the news and said a case will be filed in this connection.

Bus driver and helper, however, managed to flee the scene although the bus was seized, he said.
