A week-long book fair was inaugurated at Kanaikhali field in Natore district on Friday.
Ratna Ahmed, MP, inaugurated the fair at a function as the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed was in the chair.
General secretary of the district Awami League Shariful Islam Ramzan, municipality mayor Uma Chowdhury Jolly, former state minister Ahad Ali Sarker, educationist Subid Kumar Moitra, social activist Syed Mortuza Ali Babul and additional deputy commissioner Nur Ahmed Masum spoke, among others, at the function.
Bangladesh Publishers and Book-Sellers Association organized the fair with the help of the Cultural Affairs Ministry. The fair will continue till December 8.
A total of 40 stalls have been set up at the fair.
