Mother, two daughters killed in Faridpur road crash

A woman and her two daughters were killed and at least six others injured in a road accident in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Laboni Akter, 38, a resident of Atadi village in the upazila, and her daughters Suraiya, 17, and Joynab, 3.

Locals and police said a private car got hit a truck in Suadi area under Chandra union on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway around 7:45 am, leaving one passenger of the former vehicle dead on the spot and other ones injured.

Among the injured, one, later, died at Bhanga Upazila Health Complex while another passed away at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital, Faridpur.

Shibchar Highway Police Station officer in-charge Md Abu Naim confirmed the matter.

One dies as train hits bus in Sirajganj

A man died and 26 others were injured as a train hit a passenger bus at the Koddar Mor rail level crossing in the Sadar Upazila here today.

The deceased was identified as Babul, who hailed from the Thakurgaon district. He was the supervisor of the bus.

In charge of Sirajganj railway police Harun-or-Rashid said the accident occurred this morning at Koddar Mor on the Dhaka-Ishwardi rail route. Babul died while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital.
