Journalist Arun Saha passes away

Arun Saha, News Editor of the Daily Purbanchal, a regional daily of Khulna, passed away at 60 due to cardiac arrest in Khulna Sunday night.

Arun, also a senior member of Khulna Press Club and Journalists Union of Khulna (KUJ) left behind his wife, a son and a daughter, relatives and huge admirers to mourn his death.

His body was taken to the Purbanchal Office, Khulna Press Club, Shitalabari and Dharmasova temples from 10am to 1pm on Monday where different socio-cultural organisations and political parties including Awami League and Khulna Press Club paid their rich tributes.

He was cremated at Rupsha Cremation Centre in the city Monday afternoon.

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University Prof Dr Mahmud Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology KUET) Prof Dr Mihir Ranjan has expressed their deep shock at the death of senior journalist Arun Saha. They also conveyed their heartfelt sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
