Two people were killed in two separate road accidents in Nabiganj and Madhobpur upazilas of Habiganj district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Saleha Begum, 65, hailed from Gumgumia village in Nabiganj upazila and Afser Uddin, 32, an inhabitant of Brahmanbaria district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nabiganj Thana Dalim Ahmed said Saleha Begum died on the spot while her Orna (long scarf) got entangled with the wheel of a battery-run Tom Tom (locally-made vehicle) in Horinagar area on Nabiganj- Markuli road in the morning.
Besides, another incident occurred when a motorcycle went under a road accident around 10:30 pm last night at Muktijoddha Chattor on the Dhaka- Sylhet Highway in Madhobpur upazila, leaving Afser Uddin, an Ansar Bahini member, critically injured on the spot, said OC of Madhobpur Thana Mohammad Abdur Razzak.
He was rushed to the Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead, the OC said, adding: “Another one injured in the accident.”
