Trader shot dead in Khulna

A sand trader was shot dead by armed miscreants at Jamira area under Fultala upazila of Khulna district.

The trader was identified as Milon Fakir, 45, son of Abdul Wahab Fakir, hailed from village Perol under Kalia upazila in Narail district.

Local people and Police said, two criminals riding by a motorcycle shot Milon at 8am on Monday while he was standing near Ideal School on Jamira Road of the upazila. He ran away to a nearby shop to save himself immediately after the shooting where the criminals shot at his head from a point blank range and fled away.

Getting information, Police rushed to the spot and sent him to Fultola upazila health complex where the on duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fultala Police Station Elias Fakir Talukder said, the deceased was a sand trader and also a contractor.
