SUST student commits suicide

A student of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) is suspected to have died by suicide at his own home early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Minhazul Abedin, a student of the Mathematics Department of the university and a resident of Salamatpur village of Manirampur Upazila of Jashore district.

SM Saidur Rahman, Assistant Professor of the Mathematics department of the university, said Minhajul Abedin, a student of the 2016-17 session of our department, committed suicide at his home around 3am on Thursday.

His mother informed the matter in the morning over the phone, he said.

However, Minhaz was the founder and president of the university’s robotics-related organisation ‘Roboadda’.
