Aush farming incentives allotted in Bhola

A total of 29,000 small and marginal farmers will get seed and fertiliser as incentives for the cultivation of Aush paddy in the current season in all seven upazilas of Bhola district.

The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has increased the number of farmers significantly in the current financial year 2022-23 in the district to increase their interest in Aush cultivation

Under the programme, the target of Aush cultivation was fixed on 69,100 hectares of land, District DAE Deputy Director Hasan Waresul Kabir told BSS.

Among the beneficiary farmers, 6,000 are in Sadar upazila, 4,500 in Daulatkhan upazila, 3,200 in Borhanuddin upazila, 3,000 in Lalmohan upazila, 1,500 in Tajumuddin upazila, 10,000 in Charfession upazila and 8,000 in Manpura upazila will get the incentive of the district, according to the Agriculture Office of the district.

The beneficiary farmers will get five kilograms of Aush paddy seed, 10 kg of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertiliser and 10 kg of muriate of potash (MOP) fertiliser free of cost for cultivating one bigha of land under the programme.

Hasan Waresul Kabir said the incentives distribution work would begin very soon.
