Hanging body of grade-9 student recovered in Bogura

The hanging body of a female student was recovered from her house in Nandigram upazila of the district on Thursday, police said. She was a student in Grade IX.

The 15-year-old Rokeya Khatun was the daughter of Abdur Rahman of Mirzapur village under the Bhatara union of the upazila and a student of a local high school.

Locals and police said her mother and sister-in-law on Wednesday went to a relative's house leaving behind Rokeya and her father at the house.

The father went out of the house in the morning on his job and spotted the body hanging from a pole with her scarf when he returned home at noon, they said.

Mostafizur Rahman, in-charge of Kumida Panditpukur investigation centre, said the body was sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy after the recovery.
