Three killed in road accidents

At least three people were killed and 14 others injured in separate road crashes in Munshiganj and Madaripur districts on Sunday.

In Munshiganj, two people were killed and nine others injured in a road accident at Gazaria upazila early Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Dulal Mia, 60, son of late Abdul Khalek Mia, and Mohammad Hossain, 10, son of Aktar Hossain. Both hailed from Titas upazila of Cumilla district.

Police said six people were going to Titas upazila of Cumilla from Dhaka by a microbus. On the way, a covered van rammed the micro bus from behind in the Baushia area around 3:30 am.

Nine passengers of the two vehicles were injured in this connection.

On information, police recovered the bodies from the spot. Bhaberchar Highway Police Outpost in-charge ASM Rashedul Islam said legal steps were under process in this regard.

In Madaripur, a construction worker was killed and five others injured in a collision between an illegal brick-laden trolley and a nasiman (CNG run van) in Shibchar upazila early Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sharif Hossain, 25, son of Fazlul Haque of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
