Police have filed a case against 500 unidentified people over the clash between the students of Rajshahi University (RU) and local traders.
The case has been filed with Motihar Police station.
Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station confirmed the matter to journalists on Sunday evening.
He said, a case was filed 500 unidentified people on Sunday night for obstructing police to discharge their duties.
The police also arrested a man named Taslim, said sources.
On Saturday evening, 84 people were injured after a group of RU students clashed with local traders at Binodpur Bazar area adjacent to the university campus.
Witnesses said, Mohammad, a student of Sociology department of RU under the academic session of 2017-18, locked into an altercation with the bus driver Shariful and his helper Ripon on the way to Rajshahi from Bogura over sitting on a seat.
When the bus reached Binodpur Bazar, they were locked in an argument again. Then, a local trader favoured the bus staffers and at one point he locked in a scuffle with the student.
Hearing the news, RU unit Chhatra League president Golam Kibria went to the spot. At that time local traders vandalised his motorcycle which led to the clash.
