Man gets death penalty for killing 3 children in Jhenaidah

A court in Jhenaidah on Wednesday sentenced a man to death for burning three children to death in Shailkupa upazila of the district in 2016.

District and Session Judge Md Nazimuddoula handed down the verdict to Iqbal Hossain, 49, a resident of Kabirpur village of the upazila.

According to the prosecution, on January 3, 2016, Iqbal killed three children Safin, Amin and Mahin by setting them on fire at his Kabirpur village house over a family feud. Safin and Amin were Iqbal's nephews while Mahin was his niece, a court official said.
