World Consumer Rights Day-2023 was observed in Bogura as elsewhere in the globe on Wednesday with a call to protect consumers’ rights.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘’Empowering consumers through clean energy transitions (Nirapod Jalani, Vokta-bandhob Prithibi)’.
Marking the day, the district administration and the Directorate of National Consumers Rights Protection jointly chalked out various programmes to observe the day.
On the occasion, a rally was brought out from the premise of the deputy commissioner (DC) office which paraded the important streets of the town
and ended at its conference room this morning.
Later, a discussion was held on ‘World Consumers Rights Day’ in the conference room of the DC office yesterday morning.
DC Md Saiful Islam addressed the function as chief guest with additional deputy commissioner (General) Dinesh Sarkar in the chair.
The chief guest said that the government is working to ensure safe food through the Directorate of National Consumers Rights Protection to ensure the rights of the consumers.
