2 Rohingyas shot dead in Cox’s Bazar

Two Rohingyas were shot dead when miscreants opened fire in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya upazila on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were known as Md Rafiq, and Mohammad Rafique, hailed from camp-13, G-4.

Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mohammad Ali said the incident took place around 1pm.

The OC said miscreants opened fire at Balukhali camp. Meanwhile, one of the victims died on the spot and injured two others. Later, the injured were sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where another one died under treatment.

Legal actions will be taken in this connection, he added. Members of the local police and the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) have been deployed to keep the situation normal in the camp.
