BRAC Bank and SME Foundation have launched a special skill development and awareness programme exclusively for women entrepreneurs in Rangamati.
The programme aims to improve the management and business skills of 100 potential women entrepreneurs from the hilly region and help them expand their businesses beyond their district. Through this, the organisers hope that a social revolution will be created in the area through self-employment.
This training programme began on Tuesday at Rangamati Tourism Holiday Complex Auditorium. The training programme was announced at a press conference on the day before.
SME Foundation Chairman Professor Dr Mohammad Masudur Rahman, BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Salim RF Hossain, SME Foundation Managing Dr Mofizur Rahman, Bank DMD and Head of Banking Syed Abdul Momen, SME Foundation Assistant General Manager Muhammad Masudur Rahman, BRAC Senior officials of BRAC Bank and SME Foundation along with Head of Women Banking Khadija Maryam were present on the occasion.
Through this initiative, for the first time, a bank is undertaking a skill-building programme for women entrepreneurs in the region. The programme is planned to ensure financial and digital inclusion to sustain businesses in the long term by facilitating access to various opportunities for women entrepreneurs at the grassroots level and imparting knowledge on money management.
BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Salim RF Hossain said, “Organising this training was our pleasure. Women in this region have immense potential to become entrepreneurs. This training is a reflection of our firm commitment to the development of entrepreneurship at the grassroots level in the country.”
SME Foundation is a long-standing partner of BRAC Bank in skill development of entrepreneurs.
In 2022, these two institutions organised an intensive grooming programme for budding women entrepreneurs in five districts.
Together they are committed to taking this training to other parts of the country and developing women entrepreneurs to their full potential.
