Gopalganj farmers get incentive for Aush, jute cultivation

A total of 5,900 small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila of Gopalganj district were given seeds and fertilisers free of cost as an agro incentive for the cultivation of Aush paddy and jute in the current Kharif-1 season.

Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) increased the amount of incentive support and the number of beneficiary farmers significantly in the current financial year 2022-23 in the district to expand Aush paddy and jute cultivation.

Chairman of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Parishad and Bir Muktijoddha Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Bacchu inaugurated the distribution function and handed over the incentive among the famers of the upazila as the chief guest yesterday morning with the upazila agriculture officer Mafaroza Akhtar in the chair.

The distribution function was held on the Sadar Upazila Parishad premise Friday morning.
