Three Rohingyas killed in landslide

Three Rohingya labourers were killed in a landslide while cutting mud from a hill in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar Wednesday morning.

Two of the deceased were identified as Jahid Hossain, 23, son of Abdul Motaleb, resident of Rohingya camp east-1, Syed Akbar, 20, son of Md Wares, resident of Rohingya camp-3. The identity of another deceased couldn’t be known yet.

Locals said a team of Rohingya labourers were cutting a hill near Nesar Ahmed’s house. Suddenly, some heavy chunks of mud collapsed on them, leaving the trio dead on the spot.

On information, police and a fire service men rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
