Child killed, 3 injured in wall collapse in Gazipur

A 4-year-old boy was killed and three others were seriously injured after a wall of an under-construction building collapsed over a nearby tin shade house in Gazipur on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Mushfiq. The injured are Mst Mukta, 35, Md Jahidul Islam, 28, and Hossain, 30.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Konabari Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Michael said a 15-foot-high wall collapsed on Bachchu Khan's tin-shed house next door to the under-construction 5-storey building adjacent to Zarun area in Konabari during midnight rains.

At that time, the workers of two units of police and DBL fire service rescued 5 people alive from under the collapsed wall. Mushfiq succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

At least 18 rooms of the house were also damaged.
