Jubo League leader hacked to death in Jhalakathi

A Jubo League leader was allegedly hacked to death by miscreants at Nalchiti upazila in Jhalkathi district on Wednesday night.

The victim was Tariqul Islam Sumon, 40, son of Amjad Hossain, a resident of Nandikathi area. He was an upazila Jubo League member.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nalchiti police station Md Ataur Rahman confirmed the information.

Victim’s family members and police said some miscreants hacked Sumon with sharp knives on High School Road of the upazila town around 10 pm and ran away.

Later, locals rescued him and took to Nalchiti Upazila Health Complex where an on-duty doctor declared him dead.
