World Health Day observed in Bhola

World Health Day-2023 was observed in Bhola on Friday marking the founding anniversary of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The day is observed as a global health awareness day in order to provide people with a unique opportunity to mobilise action around a specific health topic of concern all across the world.

Marking the day, a rally was brought out from the Civil Surgeon Office of the district yesterday morning which paraded different streets of the town and ended at the same place. After the rally, a discussion was held in the conference room of the civil surgeon’s office.

Dr Md Monirul Islam, Superintendent of the 250-bed General Hospital, addressed the function as the chief guest with Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Moniruzzaman in the chair. Dr Taibur Rahman, resident medical officer of the 250-bed General Hospital, Dr Md Fahmid Khan, medical officer of the civil surgeon’s office, among others, also spoke.
