Preparatory meeting on Eid-ul-Fitr held in Khulna

A preparatory meeting on the celebration of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, with due religious fervour was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khulna on Wednesday.

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Khandkar Yasir Arefin, the meeting was attended by officials, the elite, freedom fighters, journalists and Imams of mosques.

It has been decided that the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr in Khulna will be held at the Circuit House ground at 8 in the morning. Eid congregation will be held at Khulna District Model Mosque at 8:30 am.

Besides, under the management of Khulna City Corporation and with the supervision of ward councillors, separate Eid congregations will be held in each Jame mosque of all 31 wards in the city.

On the day of Eid, all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private buildings should hoist the national flag of the correct colour and size. Important places and the city roads will be decorated with flags marking Eid Mubarak.

It has also been decided that the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) will take all necessary measures to properly and befittingly prepare the prayer venues.

Law enforcement agencies will increase their patrol activities to ensure a smooth journey of people returning home during Eid by road and waterways and to maintain the security of the market area.
