Three killed in C’nawabganj road accidents

Three people including a baby were killed in two separate road crashes in Chapainawabganj district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Afia, 4, daughter of Rafiqul Islam of Hayatpur village under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, Jahid, 19, son of Saiful Islam of Dariapur Chowhodditola under Chapainawabganj municipality and Umar Faruk, 17, son of Kazipara village under Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.

Officer in Charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model thana Sajjad Hossain said, Afia was going by an auto-rickshaw along with her family members and as they reached Ramchandrapur area under sadar upazila, another auto-rickshaw hit their auto-rickshaw from behind around 10-30 am. At a result of this, Afia fell on the road and died on the spot.

In another accident, Jahid and Umar Faruk were going by a motorcycle towards Shahjahanpur under sadar upazila and it was hit a roadside tree losing control over their bike at Narendrapur Pashchimpara in sadar upazila at around 12-15 pm. At a result, both the bikers died on the spot, he added.Police recovered the bodies and sent them to C’nawabganj Sadar Hospi-tal morgue for autopsy.
