A court in Bogura on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing his third wife around 10 years ago.
Condemned convict Akber Ali Mondal is a resident of Belai Kekarpara under Kichak union in Shibganj upazila of the district.
The district Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Nur Mohammad Shahriar pronounced the verdict.
The court also fined him Tk 1 lakh and acquitted three other accused from charges as they were found not guilty.
Those who were acquitted are Akber's sons Anwar Hossain and Enamul and his first wife Ambia Khatun.

The court public prosecutor (PP) advocate Ashequr Rahman Sujan confirmed the matter.
The case statement said Akber Ali married victim Hasina Bibi in 2007 when he had already two wives. Since marriage, he had been creating pressure on her for dowry and beating up.
On September 18 of 2012, he murdered her and hanged her body.
On the following day, Hasina's brother Lokman Ali Nawfel filed a case with Shibganj Police Station in this connection.
