International Day of the Midwife celebrated in Gaibandha

International Day of the Midwife was observed in Gaibandha district as elsewhere in the country and the globe with a call to highlight the important role of midwives in the health of mothers, children and their families.

This year’s theme of the day is ‘Together Again, From Evidence to Reality’.

Marking the day, Mamota Project which is being implemented at 11 unions of the district by SKS Foundation as implementing partner in the technical assistance of Save the Children Bangladesh with the financial support of KOICA, chalked out different programmes.

A discussion meeting was held at the hall room of Mamota Project field office of the town here with project coordinator Baharam Khan in the chair on Saturday.

Deputy Director (DD) of the Department of Family Planning (DFP) Prosenjeet Pronoy Misra attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest and journalist of the national news agency Sarker Mohammad Shahiduzzaman spoke at the event as the special guest.
