5 get life in Narail murder case

A court in Narail on Sunday sentenced five people to life-term imprisonment for killing a man in Kalia upazila of the district in 2010.

District Additional and Sessions Judge Md Akram Hossain handed down the verdict to Faijur Mollah, Faruk Mollah, Kamal Khan, Ashikur Rahman and Foshiar Mollah. All of them are the residents of Shatbaria village in Kalia upazila.

In the verdict, the court also acquitted 21 accused for not proving allegations against them.

According to the details of the case, on April 10 in 2010, the convicts hacked one Sobhan Faraji to death in broad daylight over previous enmity at Shatbaria village.

Following the murder, the victim’s brother filed a case accusing 26 people of Kalia Thana.
