Woman hacked dead in front of child

A woman named Nayan Tara, 35, has been hacked to death by her husband in front of her child at a brick kiln in Brahmanbaria.

The incident took place at New Asha Brick Kiln in Dharanti area of the upazila on Saturday.

The killer was known as Chan Mustafa, a resident of Tinghuria area of Nikli upazila of Kishoreganj. After the incident, the workers of the brick kiln caught him and handed him over to the police.

Aslam Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sarail police station, said, “Chan Mustafa used to work as a labourer in the brick kiln. Like other workers, he used to live with his wife Nayan Tara and only daughter Tajin,10. On Friday night, the couple had an altercation over a family feud. Then Tajin woke up. At one point, Mustafa became angry with his wife in front of the child. As the situation worse, Tajin ran out of the house and called other workers. They came and found Nayan Tara’s blood-soaked body lying on the floor. Later when they informed the police, police rushed to the spot and arrested Chan Mustafa.

Aslam Hossain further said the body has been sent to the morgue. Deceased’s family was preparing to file a case until the report was filed.
