Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and its front organisations observed the Historic ‘Six-Point Demand Day’ paying tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders on Wednesday.
To mark the day, the Rajshahi city unit of the party placed wreaths on the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders in front of the party office and paid glowing tributes.
Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton flanked by other front-ranking leaders and activists placed wreaths followed by a discussion meeting.
Liton addressed the meeting as the focal person terming the Six-Point Demand as the charter of Bangalee’s freedom saying Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had proclaimed the Six-Point to prepare the whole nation and stimulate the thoughts of the people for achieving the independence of the country.
In fact, Bangabandhu had first realized that it was not possible to establish the rights of the Bangalee nation without being independent of the Pakistani regime.
