Hundred per cent cashless land offices are going to be established in the district within this year end aimed at infusing dynamism into the land service delivery activities.

In the district, the service recipients can complete their respective land services, including mutation, payment of revenues and other fees and withdrawal of money receipt, from their house using online.

Administrative officials and experts came up with the observation while addressing a daylong training workshop in Rajshahi city on Sunday. Land Ministry and District administration jointly organised the workshop at the Circuit House conference hall.

All the assistant commissioners (Land), Kanungo, sub-assistant officers of the union and pourashava land offices and others concerned attended the workshop.

Land Secretary Khalilur Rahman addressed the workshop as chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed was in the chair.

Member of Land Reform Board Soshanka Shekhar Bhowmik, Additional Divisional Commissioner Imtiaz Hossain, Joint Secretary to the Land Ministry Zahid Hossain Panir and Deputy Secretary Selim Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.

During his keynote presentation, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shariful Haque said the present government has adopted a plan for building a smart Bangladesh based on four pillars- smart citizen, smart society, smart economy and smart governance.

In his remarks, Land Secretary Khalilur Rahman said the government has been working relentlessly to reach land services to the doorsteps of the public in general through promoting automation in this field.

He told the meeting that people are getting land records easily as a result of record room automation.

Hundred per cent of land mutation online is in process at present, he said, adding that a project has been adopted for the digital land survey through collecting three-dimensional satellite images.

There will be no need for manual land survey upon the successful implementation of digital land survey. Khatian and the map will be prepared automatically in terms of ownership transfer. The venture will save the public from long-lasting harassment.

In the workshop, various issues, including online holding entry, e-mutation, digital record room, automation and development tax management were discussed elaborately.
