A Cumilla court on Wednesday sentenced two people to death over the murder of a man in Homna upazila in 2010.
Cumilla Additional District and Sessions Judge Rozina Khan delivered the judgment after hearing. The two convicts were also fined Tk 20,000 each.
The death row convicts- Md Majnu Mia and Kabir Mia- were tried in absentia.
According to case details, on July 28, 2010, Abdul Karim, 35, of Bagmara Paschimpara village, was killed and police recovered his body on August 2 from the Titas river. Karim’s brother filed a case with Homna Police Station in Cumilla against 6 people.
