As many as 1,000 Bangladeshis, out of the estimated 2,500 who got stranded in India due to the Covid-19 lockdown will be brought back home by six special flights to be operated in the first week of May.
Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi confirmed the matter in a press release issued Monday (April 27).
Biman Bangladesh Airlines to operate three flights—one from Kolkata on May 1, one from Delhi on May 2 and one from Mumbai on May 3. Interested Bangladeshi nationals will have to visit Biman website for necessary information and complete registration through Bangladesh mission in India, said the release.
Besides, US-Bangla Airlines will operate three flights on April 30, May 1 and 2 (one flight each of the three days), to take back the Bangladeshis home.
