1,347 Cox’s Bazar policemen transferred in major reshuffle

In a major reshuffle, the government has transferred a total of 1,347 police personnel from Cox’s Bazar nearly two months after the killing of Maj (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in the district’s Baharchhara police checkpost.

53 inspectors, 139 sub-inspectors (SIs), 92 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), 1,055 naibs and constables, superintendent and additional superintendent of the district police are among them.

Sources from the Police Headquarters have confirmed the information to the media Friday.

Meanwhile, 53 inspectors, 85 SIs and ASIs and 734 constables have joined Cox’s Bazar’s various police stations on Friday, said the sources.

Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post on July 31.
