Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday seized 1,876 bottles of illegal liquor during a drive at The Capital Recreation Club in Dhaka’s Gulshan area.
Commander Lt Colonel Abdullah Al-Momen of RAB-1 said a total of 463 bottles of local and foreign liquor and 1,413 canned beers were seized from the club.
A case will be filed with the Gulshan Police Station in this regard, he said.
The elite force started the raid early Saturday and continued the search until morning.
The bottles were kept hidden in a cell under the carpet of the club’s hall, ceiling of a toilet and at some other spots, Momen stated.
