Ten bodies were found on a fishing trawler along the coast at Nazirartek Point in Cox's Bazar on Sunday.
The trawler went missing in the bay two to three weeks ago and unidentified people dragged it to the shore Saturday night, according to the media cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Being informed, a team of fire service rushed to the spot and found 10 half-decomposed bodies, it added.
Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Mahfuzul Islam said they could not identify the deceased due to the decomposition. “DNA tests will be conducted to identify them.”
Sadar Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Rafikul Islam said all the deceased had their hands and feet tied. The bodies were sent to the morgue, he added.
