Ten impostors posing as members of the Detective Branch (DB) have been arrested in the act of preparing for a robbery in Kaliakoir and Ashulia areas on the outskirts of the capital on Sunday.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) - 4 arrested them during a drive and recovered a private car, auto-rickshaw, three walkie-talkies, a pair of handcuffs and 12 mobile phones.
Lieutenant Rakib Mahmud Khan, Company Commander of RAB-4, said a team of the paramilitary force acted on a tip off.
The gang has been active in staging robberies for a long time in Kaliakoir and Ashulia areas, he said.
A case been filed over the matter, he said, adding that the arrestees were handed over to police.
