At least 10 people were injured in an attack on worshipers during Taraweeh prayers at a maqtab in Bairati village of Netrokona on Thursday.
Among the injured, Nurul Haq, Musalli Abdur Rashid and Rakibul Islam Sadda had to be taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment due to severity of their wounds.
The attackers also attacked and looted several houses in the village and vandalised an autorickshaw.
According to local sources, two groups led by Abdur Rauf and Hamidul Islam got into an argument few days ago overtaking a threshing machine to dry rice.
Hamidul and his men beat up Abdur Rauf, his wife and mother last Wednesday following the argument.
Later, Abdur Rauf filed a case against Hamidul and his two sons at Kendua police station.
Police arrested Hamidul's son Titu Mia on Thursday evening in connection with the case.
Soon after Titu's arrest, Hamidul and his men became enraged and carried out attack on Rauf's men today during Taraweeh prayers.
Upon receiving the news, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Kendua Police Station OC Kazi Shah Newaz confirmed the incident and said a case was being prepared.
