Covid-19 infection was detected in all of 41 samples tested in Chuadanga in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning, taking the infection rate for the day to 100 per cent.
At the same time, two more people died of the deadly disease in the district, confirmed Dr ASM Maruf Hasan, Civil Surgeon of Chuadanga, on Thursday morning.
According to Chuadanga Health Department sources, 19 of the newly infected people were from Chuadanga Sadar upazila, one from Damurhuda upazila, seven from Alamdanga upazila and 14 from Jibannagar upazila.
The deceased have been identified as Abdus Sobhan from Jibannagar upazila and Ruhul Amin from Damurhuda upazila.
So far, 2,837 people were infected, 2,049 recovered and 91 people died till Thursday morning in Chuadanga.
Due to the ongoing surge of Covid infection, a severe lockdown was imposed in Jibannagar from 6:00am on Wednesday.
Earlier, a seven-day lockdown started in Alokdia union of Chuadanga Sadar upazila including Chuadanga municipality from 6:00am on June 20.
Bordering Damurhuda upazila was locked down on June 15.
