At least 11 people, including five minors and three women, died after a trawler carrying passengers capsized in a collision with a sand-laden trawler on the Gumai river in Kalmakanda Upazila, Netrokona.
The collision took place around 10am Wednesday.
Police sources said the death toll may rise further as some other passengers are still feared drowned.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The incident happened when the trawler was hit by the sand-laden one, on way to Thakurkona area of Netrokona Sadar Upazila after leaving Dharampasha Upazila of Sunamganj, said sources.
