Eleven people, including children, have been burnt in an explosion at a building in Jamaibazar area of Fatulla in Narayanganj.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 am on Friday.
Abdullah Al Arifi, deputy assistant director of the district fire service, confirmed the matter.
Arifi said the explosion is believed to have been caused by a leak in the gas line on the third floor of the building.
The five burnt people have been sent to Sheikh Hasina National Burn Institute in the capital. Others have been admitted to Narayanganj General Hospital with 100 beds.
Six members of the same family and five members of another family among the injured.
