Customs Intelligence officials have recovered 12 kilograms of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday night.
Deputy Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Sanjida Khandkar said in a press briefing last night that, on a tip off, the Customs Department conducted a special search inside a Bangladesh Biman Airplane around 8pm, which arrived Dhaka from Singapore.
During the operation, 12 bundles of gold were found hidden in a special way under two seats. The market value of the gold is around Taka 8.4 crore.
The seized good was deposited in customs warehouse in Dhaka Customs House, she added.
